Klats: privacy policy
Policy version: October 20, 2026. Publisher: Andrii Paziuk. Contact: vvbh0876@gmail.com.
Andrii Paziuk is the controller of personal data received through support requests. The publisher has no access to local snapshots, audio, or extension settings unless you send them yourself in a support request.
Camera and microphone
Klats processes camera video on your device to replace your image with a room snapshot and create a particle effect. The segmentation model and its software components are bundled with the extension. Frames used for recognition are not sent to the publisher or an external recognition service.
The snap detector analyzes audio locally after you explicitly enable it. Audio recordings are neither stored nor sent to the publisher. Muting the call itself does not turn off the Klats detector; you can turn it off separately in the extension popup.
Local data
Settings and the latest room snapshot are stored in the extension’s local storage. Snapshots from active cameras may also remain in tab memory. Tab and document identifiers, the selected call’s address, and visibility state are used in browser session storage to control the correct call and restore its state.
You can delete the room snapshot with the “Delete” button. To clear all extension data, uninstall Klats; reload call tabs to remove its components from their memory. Deleting the snapshot while you are hidden does not automatically restore live video — an explicit user action is required.
The call website
Processed video is passed to the video call website and its participants according to how the selected service works. The extension’s internal bridge uses page messages: website scripts can see these messages, including transmitted images. Klats does not hide data from the website itself. The call service’s policy applies separately.
Analytics, payments, and support
This version of Klats is free. It has no payment integration, accounts, advertising trackers, or extension usage telemetry of its own. The Chrome Web Store may provide the publisher with store statistics and reviews under Google’s rules.
If you choose to email support, the publisher receives your email address and message content to respond to your request. Do not send passwords, links containing call access secrets, or private images unless necessary. Use the contact above for requests concerning your correspondence or its deletion.
Support requests are processed to respond to your request and help resolve the issue you describe. The basis is a legitimate interest in providing the support you requested under Article 11, Part 1, Clause 6 of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”, unless your fundamental rights and freedoms override that interest. Correspondence is not used for advertising.
Support emails and attachments are deleted from the publisher’s mailbox no later than 12 months after the request is resolved. You may request earlier deletion. If the law requires specific information to be retained or it is needed to protect rights in a dispute, only the necessary portion is retained for as long as that basis applies; the reason for limiting deletion will be explained in the response to your request.
Support uses Gmail (Google): the email service handles delivery and storage of correspondence under Google’s privacy policy. The provider’s rules, rather than Klats settings, determine retention periods for its service logs and backups.
Public policy page
A public copy of this policy is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit it, GitHub logs and stores your IP address for security, whether or not you are signed in. This is data processing by the page host, rather than extension telemetry: local camera and microphone processing does not send frames or audio to GitHub.
The host’s data processing is described in GitHub’s privacy policy and the GitHub Pages documentation. Google and GitHub may process data outside Ukraine under their own rules. Video call service policies apply separately.
Your rights and requests
Under Ukrainian law, you may learn which of your personal data is processed and its source, purpose, and recipients; access it; request correction of inaccurate data or deletion of unlawfully processed data; and submit a reasoned objection to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions established by law.
Send your request to vvbh0876@gmail.com and specify the correspondence or data it concerns. To prevent disclosure to another person, verification of your identity may be needed to the extent required by law; do not send identity documents in advance. Requests are handled within statutory time limits. Local extension data is deleted on your device using the methods described above — the publisher cannot access or delete it remotely.
You may also submit a complaint to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or to a court. The rights of personal data subjects are defined in Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”.
Policy changes
Changes are published on this page with an updated version date and included in the next extension build. Material changes to the use of personal data will be communicated before new processing begins; consent will be requested separately if required.
User data is neither sold nor used for advertising. The use of information received through Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
